Two concerns: a 17 year old timing belt and the turbo's seals might have dried out. I would recommend having the timing belt changed prior to a long drive and would check the turbo seals by running the car and then letting it sit overnight (two or three days would be better if you can). Check for blue (oil) smoke when it is first started and when you first accellerate.
Where is the car located? You might wish a member of Twin Turbo (or the local Z club) look at it.
